Our History
Founded by two friends with a shared vision
Scarlet Cars Ltd was founded in 2024 by two friends who shared not only a vision but a decade of hands-on experience in London's ride-hailing industry. Having worked as drivers for major platforms — including Uber, Bolt, Ola and various online/office-based taxi firms — they saw the realities of the business from the front seat: long hours, rising costs, falling driver earnings, and increasingly expensive rides for customers.
This first-hand experience sparked a simple but powerful idea: create a better alternative. One that puts both customers and drivers first.
After months of planning and preparation, Scarlet Cars officially launched in June 2025.
Why We Started
We knew there had to be a better way
In recent years, big-name ride-hailing companies have raised prices for passengers while lowering earnings for drivers. These platforms often require drivers to invest in newer, more expensive vehicles while increasing commission rates, leaving many struggling to make a fair income.
As a result, drivers are working longer hours just to break even. At the same time, customers are being charged more for what feels like less reliable, less personal service.
